Testimonial Page, Desert Point Kennel
We strive to make each and every family experience a joy of a lifetime. Acquiring a new family member should be a remarkable journey of joy for each family. We want each family to have as much joy and confidence in us, as they will have in their new family member. The first step we take is by giving a 100% guaranty. This not only takes the pressure off the family but insures us that if the new GSP does not fit in, or family circumstances change, we can get our loved one back and re-home him or her to the right new family. We are always here for the new family, and walk everyone through each step of the process as well as what to expect in the future. Because once you get a new family member from us, you become our family as well.
Testimonials
David GowdeyOne of our best testimonials comes from David Gowdey the author of The German Shorthaired Pointer. David and His brother Michael both have one of our dogs. David has Axel and Michael has Wolfgang.
Good breeders think about the kind of dogs they want to produce, they have an idea of the perfect specimen of their breed and they breed toward that goal. They think both of the dog's function, as well as their form. Randy Randall is dedicated to producing fine traditional German Shorthairs. The kind that make outstanding hunters for the foot hunter, have a strong natural point and a natural love for water and retrieving, and make excellent family members as well. I got my Axel from Randy almost two years ago and he has turned out to be the kind of German Shorthair I love. Biddable, intelligent, sweet tempered, with an outstanding nose, strong natural point and retrieve, and built the way a GSP should. I highly recommend his kennel. David Gowdey. |
Michael GowdeyWe love Wolfgang, he is the best dog ever. Fit's in great with our family. We would diffidently recommend Desert Point Kennel.

Kelsey SallisSome very nice word, thanks Kelsey.
We do love hearing this. Mike Cross has been guiding in Az. for 15 years, and this is a picture and a text he sent me: "Miss Annie was a late bloomer but ay 26 months she Points, BACKS, fetches, hunts hard can run all day and into the next! Can run her with any dog. Feet hold up well. Best nose out of 7 dogs that include GSPs, Brittanys, and German Longhairs. Out of the field she is the calmest yard dog/pet of any GSP under 10 years That I have ever seen".

This is a story about a "Princess",
Desert Point Kennels Princess Vera.
My name is Barry Jenkins, about 4 years ago, I was in a mad search to fulfill my wife's desire to have a female, liver and ticked GSP puppy. She had sent me a pic of the coloration she wanted.
I looked across the western states for this exact puppy, to no avail. I did however, find a breeder in Yuma that had a few puppies.
This was my first call to Randy Randall. Randy had had some pups a bit ago, but we're all sold. He did however have one female he was keeping for himself. After explaining what desire we had, the trouble in finding the exact puppy, he, SO UNSELFISHLY offered to give her up.
I'm not sure if anyone has ever had a puppy that they loved so much, and had so much hope in its abilities and future, but it's a unbelievable bond.
Randy had that with this dog, but the type of person he is, he put his own feelings below our desire for this puppy. This speaks volumes to what kind of true man Randy is. Obviously a respected friendship was born.
When Vera was 2 we decided to breed her to Randy's male, David.
This was our first time ever breeding a dog. Talk about a million questions, it was scary. Randy helped with every step, and was so patient. We could not of made it though without him.
The standard arrangements were for Randy to get pick female to bring back into his kennels breeding stock(these 2 dogs and their bloodlines were very sought after).
Vera only had a few girls and we had pre-sold all the pups. We had a waiting list of about 20 families. Which I highly recommended them to wait for the next litter from Randy, I would explain to them that he not only maybe the nicest man alive, but is like a walking encyclopedia of GSP's. His dedication and love for this breed is unmatched by anyone.
So when most all puppy placing was done and over, a family had just lost their female GSP of 14 yrs. Again, Randy put himself behind the family's painful loss, and offered up his female in exchange for a male. NO BREEDER would ever ever do this, but he never gave it a second thought.
So, enter a little male puppy named "Blackie Chan" or as you may know him by his new Desert Point Kennels name, "BaJenks". He has become quite a celebrity and very popular pup at the Desert point kennels Facebook page, LOL.
Vera and David had 13 puppies, all perfectly healthy and happy. Randy took BaJenks, and we ended up holding back Quinton.
About Vera.
Vera is by far the most gifted GSP I have owned or been around. I can only hope Quinton follows suit(which all indications look good).
Beautiful, elegant, smart, fast, athletic, driven, majestic and regal, all words that barely scratch the surface when describing Vera.
We are an outdoor and hunting family, but not solely bird hunting. So not only does she hunt birds, she travels with us(a lot), fishes, swims, hikes, deer hunts/scouts, rides quads, and lives an amazing life. She opens doors by herself, only rides shotgun(remember... she is a Princess), swims to the bottom of the pool for retrieval, catches frisbees our out the air and lands in the pool. She loves people, and while working in the field, resembles a mix between an Olympic runner, gymnast, and a gazelle. Truly an amazing dog.
I could never write enough words to describe my eternal thanks to Randy and Kim, and their breeding program that brought Vera into our life. They offer a 100% return policy on puppies, but I really truly question why, with such a quality program, who in there right mind would do so.
Kim and Randy, thank you from the bottom of our hearts, The Jenkins Family.

Lance Ellsworth, 11-10-15I first heard of Randy and his dogs from a friend who bought a pup from him. My friend told me that he was searching for the "RIGHT" breeder for almost 4 months. After a lot of research on Randy's Kennel and talking with him, my friend went to his place and got his own pup. When I called Randy, he could not stop talking about how amazing GSP are and how he breeds the right GSP because its a passion of his and not just to make $$, so I knew I was getting a good dog. I was hooked, I drove 3 hours to his place, and he showed me some pups that he had tested with pointing and sure enough, my dog was pointing great and I took him home and have been so happy with my GSP. I even went out last weekend with Randy to take some of his gang out and my dog for some goo work hard and had great points. Lots of Fun. Thanks Randy for your amazing dogs.

Ralph 2013Bought a liver and roan male GSP from Randy and Kim in July 2013 this dog has soooooo much natural ability can swim all day run all day and most importantly hunt all day all which required no training on my part just exposure and at the end of the day when the hunt is over the best family dog you could ever want and randy is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the breed how to train he told me exactly what to expect with this dog and he was spot on I would recommend these dogs to anybody
|
Ted Bounds 2014I bought a female puppy from Randy and couldn't be more pleased. She is smart, adjusted nicely to my two older dogs, friendly toall other dogs and people and loves to retrieve her toys to hand and swum in the pool- all at eleven weeks old. Looking forward to starting her on birds soon. If you want a well adjusted hunting partner and family companion go see Randy
|
Thomas Russell, 2013I currently have two 8 month old dogs from Randy. I couldn't be more pleased with their natural ability to point, retrieve, and find birds. They make me look like I am a decent dog trainer. They are also great pets and good in our home. They even tolerate cats with just a point here and there. Couldn't be more pleased and would not consider a dog from a breeder other than Randy!
|
Steve, Jan 15, 2013Randy is the most honest, open breeder I have ever spoken with. When I was considering a new pup, he ran me through the pros and cons of each upcoming litter. Now, a year later my dog is exactly what he told me to expect. He's a pleasure to have around the house, loves the kids, great nose, great point, can hunt all day. Required very little training for all that. He's not much for retrieving, but that's exactly what Randy told me to expect. Highly recommend giving Randy a call.

Marlin Sisco 12-3-12I bought a female GSP(Marilyn) from Randy and Kim, she is 1 year old. She absolutly loves to hunt and has one of the prettiest points to behold. She can go all day and then some, she retrives well and like water. Randy and Kim are great to work with and breed pure hunting dogs but even if I didn't hunt these dogs are wonderful family dog, nothing quite like a GSP.
Thanks Randy and Kim, Marilyn and I are a real, team. :) She is a quail vaccume machine |

I Cant thank Randy enough for all of the harwork he has put into these dogs. I got my now 5 month old GSP back in may, Ruger was a pup from Rene X Pretty Boy litter and man he has energy. Randy prides himself as having dogs with a natural point as well as a love of water, and i can tell you with 100% confidence they will do just that.I had talked to 4 breeders before Randy, and not one of them knew as much about their own dogs as he did. So if you are looking for some great GSP's with amazing athletic ability, he's your guy. -Victor |

Randy and Kim are some of the nicest people that you could ever meet. They are passonate about what they do. They truly love all of the dogs and puppied they raise. My son Richard and I recently got three started dogs from Desert Point and we couldn't be more pleased with these dogs. The dogs we got are very well socialized and fit in nicely in our homes. Richard's dog Jason is doing well and adapting to his new home nicely. He will be a fine hunting companion to my son for many years to come. The two dogs I got Ranger and Pretty Boy are brothers. They are adapting nicely to their new home and are wonderful dogs. I wouldn't trade either one of them for anything. When I brought them into the house my wife immediately pointed to Pretty Boy and announced "that one is mine". She can have him but I am still going to hunt him. Both of these dogs are more than I could have hoped for. If you are looking for a nice pup or started dog don't hesitate to pick up the phone and call Randy. You will get a top quality dog or pup from one of the best breeders around. Rick Roscoe |

I would recommend Desert Point Kennel to anyone that asks! Randy and his wife are so nice! Probably the nicest people you will meet. Just from first talking to Randy on the phone I could tell how much he truly loves his dogs! I talked to a lot of breeders before Randy, but no one was as pleasant to talk to or as willing to work with me. I am getting a pup from Randy this weekend and I am so excited! Thank you Randy for being so helpful and setting me up with the perfect pup! |

I currently own three German Shorthaired Pointers from Desert Point Kennel. The dogs we have gotten from this breeder are absolute top quality dogs. The dogs bred here are sound of mind and body, versatile, and raised with true loving care. Breeder is extremely knowledgeable about the breed, and spends his entire life with the dogs and puppies. Puppies are hunted daily and trained at a very young age. They are well socialized and the breeder is a fanatic about only breeding his top, best quality dogs. |
Richard Shane Roscoe September 3 at 1:47am · The last 3 days have been amazing. I love spending time with my dad(Rick Roscoe) and uncle(Tony Roscoe). They both have taught me so much about hunting the last year on our deer hunt and dove hunting this week. A few years ago I wanted a dog, specifically a German short haired pointer. I stumbled across a website which lead me to a breeder in Arizona. Through him I got my best friend in the world, my dog Jason. Aside from that, he's become a very good friend to my dad. Today he gave me another best friend and I'm so emotional and happy. I love dogs so much. I'm going to be a crazy dog person soon. Thank you so much Randy Randall. |

I can't even begin to express how happy I am with my little water loving GSP who we got from Randy at Desert Point Kennels almost a month ago. In just a short amount of time, Axe has already proven to be the perfect dog we expected. I think this is a pretty important testimonial as we were looking for a dog who is a family dog and not a hunting dog, but portrays all the good traits a hunting dog has for our active lifestyles. We live in San Diego CA, and I did not care about driving far to get a dog as long as it was the perfect one. I spent months researching kennels for a GSP breeder who didn't just breed for looks or performance, but also bred a good, stable brain on their dogs. The moment I started reading through the DPK website I knew it was the one. I have never come across a more dedicated and particular breeder as Randy, and feel blessed that I did. His program is impeccable, and he breeds great temperament, which is something that was very important to us, living in a very high populated area. Everywhere we go, Axe is the star of the show, he loves on people, and plays well with all dogs. The first day he saw the ocean he jumped right in and never looked back. He is the perfect example of a versatile dog. Thank you so much Randy and Kim! You have lifetime customers in us! If anyone has questions feel free to contact me at 619-572-3038 |

I have owned GSPS for 50 years. I hunt all over this great country of ours but mainly arizona. I bought my pup last November from randy. A gangly little male. He is now 78 lbs and hands down the best GSP I have ever had Randy's breeding program mixes functionality with disposition. My dog has well over 200 Birds Over him in training and hunting. Besides pointing he did absolutley great in the dove blind. At home he is a house dog and sleeps next to me. He is a great watch dog. If you take the time with the excellent raw material this man provides you will have a loving loyal companion that does it all |
Brittney Durkins brittneydurkin@yahoo.com. 2017, It's so rare to meet honest hard working people such as Randy and Kim, two of the best, sweetest, warmest hearted people I've ever met. My husband and I have visited the Redneck Ranch in person and and it is immediately clear upon arrival that they are beyond 100% dedicated to their dogs. There is not a pup on the property that he doesn't know everything about. Randy can even riddle off information and pedigrees of pups that have moved on from his kennel. The property is surprisingly clean and organized, every dog has it's place whether it be inside the main house or in one of the many RV's he has on the property remodeled specifically to fit the needs of the dogs. Randy and Kim truly love what they do and you can see all the hard work and love put into each and every dog that comes from their ranch!

We have had our German Shorthair, Gunny, for just over a year now and he is a better dog than we ever could have imagined. Initially we got him with the intention of him being my husband’s hunting dog, but with a move into the city that just didn’t work out. I was concerned we would have a dog that would become stir crazy and destructive but it hasn’t been an issue at all. Randy couldn’t have been more accurate when he described his dogs to us. Gunny has all the drive of a hunting dog but when he is at home he is the perfect family pet. And talk about an affectionate animal. I have never met a dog that snuggles as good as Gunny. He also loves his older sister, a border collie, dearly, and we are always finding him cuddled up to her. Everyday puppy pictures get posted on Randy’s page and my husband and I talk about wanting to bring another one home. Unfortunately, due to the size of our yard we are stuck a two dog family. Once we move to more property though we will definitely be adding more of Randy’s dogs to our pack. After seeing Gunny my older brother picked up one of Randy’s puppies last month and just adores him as well. None of us have had German Shorthairs before but we are definitely hooked now.

I reached out to Randy about a year before I retired from the Army. I told Randy I was looking for a hunt/pet/therapy dog. Randy and I spoke for about a half hour on the phone. He was asking me many questions about what I wanted and needed in a GSP. I explained my battles with PTSD from my Iraq deployment and desire to hunt when I retired.
Well Randy said he had a pup that he thought was just right and gave me his address and we set a time to meet up. A few days later I drove to Welton Az to meet Randy and all his pups.
My wife and I got a tour of his kennel and lessons in GSPs. Randy then introduced us to our new puppy Augie a 5 month old male GSP. When I asked Randy what I owed him he said thank you for your service and enjoy your GSP. We left that day not knowing how much our life would change.
Augie instantly became a family member and by best friend. He has proven to be the best therapy for PTSD I have had. I shutter to think where I would be today without Augie.
Randy you have no idea the impact you have made in my life.
PaM and I thank you.

23 hrs · Yuba City, CA · Big thank you to Randy Randall and Kimberlee Randall, I has always wanted a hunting dog. With the help of Desert Point Kennels that dream became a reality. I got Kaiser last March from Randy and everyday since has truly been a blessing. I didn't know much about the breed and I love them. Today was the first hunt of many, and although slow Kaiser showed a lot of great promise. Randy breeds some of the best all around gun dogs. Whether it be working a point chasing upland game or working from a blind for ducks and geese, These dogs excel in every aspect. Amazing dogs for those with family, and marvelous hunters. If your looking for one dog that can do it all, look no further than a GSP.

Great morning for a little duck hunting! Marlin worked really well, this was his first time with ducks and he used his nose and found 2 wounded birds in the bushes. He initially was a little confused by the decoys but figured it out pretty quick ?. Dallas did good too, he also got a wounded bird and at least 2 others in the water. At 16 years old, he’s learning to be content letting Marlin do the harder stuff! Who says GSP’s aren’t duck/water dogs?

12 hrs · San Diego, CA · Our little Marshall is one year old today. It’s been a year of torn up beds, destroyed “indestructible” toys, a few plants ripped out by the roots, thousands of “NO MARSALL’s” some bruises and puppy scratches all over our body’s and a tear here and there from Payton after an over zealous Marshall welcomed her home, but all in all we love him...and in another short 2 years or so he’ll be as wonderful as Tucker.
Randy, I hope you enjoy these pictures. Marshall is one of Jack and Molly’s pups, we got him from Desert Point Kennels last March. Currently we live in San Diego but take him and our other beautiful GSP, Tucker (who is over eight years old but still has so much puppy in him) to Arizona with us to run and play on ours and our Sisters property there. Until we get moved over there permanently we will just continue to run him on our beautiful beach. As you can see, I don’t come close to taking the remarkable pictures and videos you do but I think these will show how happy Marshall is with his family and just how much we love him too.
Randy, we got a pup from you last year. I just got him back from the trainer. I have to tell you the trainer gave me a bad time because my dog had light colored hair on his hocks! He kept saying he wasn’t sure if my dog was a GSP! Well, I figured out why his hair was bleached out-it was because he spent so much time in our pool! My trainer is very much a quail guy who only uses his GSP’s on quail. Well, my dog can point and retrieve and I will spend the next year taking him to WY for sage grouse, Huns, maybe sharptails and duskies. Then I will bag my two antelopes and head back to AZ for Gambel’s and Mearns. I am so excited! Just want to say I really love my dog and am happy that he loves the water because I certainly intend to use him on ducks in the future.
