Desert Point's Molly. Molly was given to us as an adult dog. The owners as often happens could not keep her. They had spent good money on her and on her training. She is from a well established line of show German Shorthairs. The Minado Kennel. There are 58 Champions in her pedigree and almost everyone including her dad is a Show Champion. I have often said that a show line of German Shorthaired Pointers are better hunting dogs than most other breeds hunting dogs. This has been the case with Molly. She meets out 5 areas of concern. Great water work, she loves the water. Natural point, and retrieve. Works with the hunter at the proper range, and has a loving temperament. Her build is stocky, and her legs seem a little shorter, but overall she is the real deal. Bred to our line of dogs she produces are wonderful, and of course beautiful pups. Molly was bred by Colleen and Kenn Scruggs who own Goose Valley Kennel in Ca. Kenn hunts and as often happens they got into showing dogs. This is what Kenn said: "In twenty years we have had 8 litters we DO NOT breed just to breed do we have a waiting list yes one woman waited 4 years our first GSP was a Creeksyde Pinehill puppy the last breeding by Duane And Mary welped by Ken and Jean a line and kennel over 50 years old. 2 years later we were approached by Doug and Leanne asked if we were looking for a female they were in trusting us with a female puppy, holly cow we picked her before her eyes were open picked her up at 8 weeks. Later she would be know as Ch. Minado's Cantankerous Cassie JH our first Champion. The Pinehill dog was not a show dog didn't like it strictly my hunting dog, we had 3 litters with them, from the first litter we kept a male later to be Ch. Goose Valley's Charger JH who turned 14 in December out of the 3rd litter we kept Molly's mother Goose Valley's Champagne Magnum JH. We had 3 litters with her she survived 3 cancer operations the third the vet took all but 2 nipples 200 staples that was 3 years ago she is still going strong had a great hunting season. That's the 2 we kept from the 2nd litter was Hannah owners George and Fran they asked us who we recommend to breed her to my first thought was Hudson, CH, MH, NAVHDA, Stud dog of the year and more, they offered us a puppy now Ch VON SHOUGH'S "UNFORGETTABLE " JH Picasso I picked Hudson because I'd judged him twice in the field. Now we have Anne Picasso's daughter who we are campaigning and another puppy Hannah 7.5 months just won a 5 point major at the German Shorthair Pointer club of Southern California Specialty in Palm Springs her background her great grandmother, grandfather and father are HOF dogs."
